To choose to develop your project in the Bordeaux region is to benefit from the synergy surrounding the existing competitiveness clusters and from the environment, facilities and services you need to grow.
Today, with over 20 projects selected for the national “Investissements d’avenir” (Investing in the Future) programme , the region boasts one of the highest success rates in the calls for projects in this nationwide programme. Themes of the projects cover all different disciplines: materials, neurosciences, the environment, archaeology, imaging, cardiology, public health, sustainable building, health and society, lasers and ICT.
The vocational and technology training system has also been developed in recent years with the creation of new diploma courses adapted directly to the needs of industry, notably in the fields of composites and wind energy, aeronautics maintenance, lasers, eco-construction and health IT.
Such is the case, for example, of the Laser training platform (PYLA) dedicated to vocational training, the only one of its kind in the whole of the south of France, or Europe’s only training centre in manufacturing over-sized composite parts: Composite Technotraining (C2T).
The pass rate in the Baccalauréat school-leaving examination is higher than the national average, especially in the vocational and technological Baccalauréats.
Today, one young person in four in vocational training at all different levels has chosen an apprenticeship: 87 vocational secondary schools with 30,000 students, 5th region in France for the number of apprentices (18,664 apprentices).
