Lincor: ‘Bordeaux was the right choice for us’

Lincor Solutions, an Irish company founded in 2003, is the world’s leading developer of multifunctional Triple Play Multimedia Terminals: these touch screens are installed in hospital beds to keep patients entertained with the internet, television, videos, radio, audiobooks, a webcam etc.

They can also be used by doctors and nurses requiring secure access to the Hospital’s Information System, updating patient data in real time (prescriptions, treatment records etc.).
This technology has proved to be highly successful in France, so much so that Lincor is now establishing a subsidiary here.

Jean-Christophe Méar, who spent a number of years studying and working in Bordeaux, will be heading up this new office. “We first came to Bordeaux in October 2010 to work on a joint project with Agfa HealthCare, who are based here Bordeaux. A subsidy from the Aquitaine regional authorities certainly helped persuade us to stay!

Crucially, Bordeaux is a major metropolis with excellent transport links: there are two flights every day to Geneva, Brussels and Ireland, where our head office is based. And Paris is just 3 hours away by TGV – with the new high speed line it’ll soon be even quicker…

And of course we know that there is a pool of talented people here who are very attached to the region, stable employees with good qualifications.”

Lincor expects to recruit 6 to 8 new employees for this French branch by October 2012.
