The largest scientific building project in Aquitaine, the new premises for the ISVV (the Institute for Vine and Wine Sciences), will be completed by end 2008 on the campus of Bordeaux University.
The 10,000m2 building will house 250 researchers and a similar number of academic personnel selected from INRA (Agricultural Research Institute), ENITA (Agricultural Engineering Institute) and the Bordeaux School of Management.
Its activities will be focused on research, teaching and innovative work, and technology transfer. The new premises will foster a much greater level of synergy between researchers, students and technicians, making Bordeaux a point of reference at national level in this field.
One of the other programs allied to the vine and wine sciences sector is Inno-vin, a competitiveness cluster project, which could receive the official go-ahead in the next national round of project assessments, due to take place before the end of this current year.
