The Grand Prix de l’Architecture 2008 has been awarded to two Bordeaux architects, Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal. At their meeting on 2 July at the ministry of Culture in Paris, the Jury selected them from a short-list of four.
The Grand Prix, the top distinction accorded to architecture in France, is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to architects who have spent their entire professional career in France.
In this instance, the projects submitted for consideration included the Archeological Museum in Saintes, the Architectural Center in Vienna, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Faculty of Management at Bordeaux University and the School of Architecture in Nantes.
