Plastinov is a company located southeast of Bordeaux, manufacturing composites components. For the last three years, it has concentrated on making wind generator nacelles and blades. As such, it was appointed as main supplier to EADS Astrium for blades and tooling.
To handle this business, Plastinov acquired a production line from Dutch company NGUP. The two operators then had the idea of setting up a jointly owned affiliate dedicated to blade repair and maintenance. Thus, NGUP SE (South Europe was born. It is located in the Blanquefort Ecoparc, just outside Bordeaux.
The South Europe Wind Generator Park is a logical development and presents us with some interesting business opportunities, comments Fabien Baumann. NGUP SE is locating near Bordeaux as a practical manufacturing strategy. It is here that the future of wind generating will be determined.
