LASEA announces the creation of its latest French subsidiary LASEA FRANCE, based in the Cité de la Photonique in Bordeaux, and is mainly focused on the application of laser micromachining.
As well as bringing the group closer to many of its French clients, this subsidiary will allow Lasea to rapidly increase its micromachining activity, thanks to the presence of three main partners in the sector, Amplitude Systèmes (who manufacture lasers with ultra short pulses), Eolite (who produce lasers with short pulses), and Alphanov (technological centre which specialises in laser micromachining), all of which are located in the same business park.
"The presence of our historic partners [Amplitude Systèmes, Alphanov and Eolite systems] was one reason for this first establishment" adds Paul-Etienne Martin, the director. "The proximity means that expertise is multiplied tenfold for creating new laser systems, but also for manufacturing tailor-made machines which respond to needs which the market does not satisfy. In fact, in France, there are not any industrial integrators of laser sources with ultra-short pulses for micromachining. There was a gap in the market!"
Originating from the Liège Space Centre, the Belgian company, founded in 1999, it is mainly involved in the medical, watch making and automobile sectors. The company’s clients from around the world (Daikin, Baxter, Valéo…) are able to introduce laser technology into their production lines. Over the next three years, about ten new employees (engineers and salespeople) should be joining the team in France.
