IOTA set up in Bordeaux Laser Highway
IOGS, the Institute of Optics Graduate Scholl, has its HQ at Palaiseau, just outside Paris. Its Management Committee has decided unanimously to set up an office in Bordeaux.
This move carries with it a number of very real benefits :
- It enhances the overall excellence of scientific activity in Aquitaine and demonstrates the attraction of the Bordeaux university scene, where its powerful multi-disciplinary approach is exemplified by the Neurocampus project.
- It provides additional training facilities to Engineer’s, Master’s and Doctorate levels.
- It will add additional R&D strengths to the existing optics and lasers structure. The entire range of major Aquitaine projects in this field, such as the Megajoule Laser, the Petal Laser, the Alphanov Technology Center and the leading-edge startups will benefit from this.
The Aquitaine region has already invested around $50 million in this sector of activity.
