EBC Medical Relocates Near Bordeaux
Specialist in optical and opto-electronic material, EBC is re-locating its R&D operation to Bordeaux.
Its research affiliate Vision Innovation Center (VIC) which plays a vital part in the Group’s operations, will start up in Pessac. In so doing, it signals the importance of the cluster of competitiveness that it will be joining.
“The partnership with the Bordeaux Hospital Complex and with Bordeaux Universities I and II were determining factors in our decision to re-locate,” explains François-Henri Sahakian, vice-president of VIC. “We are right in the center of a zone where the concentration of scientific expertise is quite exceptional. Apart from this research opportunity, we have found some dynamic and committed partners here, who have helped us to drive our project on and to give us a good start“.
A seven-strong team has got the research unit off the ground, presaging a bright future for the many development projects now under way locally.
