EADS Sogerma benefits from the success of ATR

The EADS SOGERMA production site in Mérignac, not far from Bordeaux Airport, is getting a boost from the success of the ATR Franco-Italian regional transport aircraft, for which it produces the wings.
As of next year, a €1-2 million investment is scheduled to automate rivet installation. By 2013, the Gironde plant should be producing 80 wings a year (against 26 in 2010 and 50 in 2011).
In order to support this growth, EADS SOGERMA, which already has 157 employees, is planning to recruit a dozen extra people in 2012. SOGERMA also has a subsidiary, COMPOSITES AQUITAINE, in Salaunes in the Medoc.
