According to the annual “Innovation Cities TOP 100” survey carried out by Australian company 2Thinknow (world agency for innovation analysis), Bordeaux ranked as the 23rd most innovative city in Europe, alongside cities like Oslo, Düsseldorf and Brussels.
In the world, Bordeaux is ranked 41st out of the 331 cities studied in 2011.
Compared to 2010, the metropolis of Bordeaux has climbed 4 places up the European city ranking and 2 places up the world classification, which is proof of Bordeaux’s new place within the dynamic economy of cities.
Bordeaux and its region are increasingly asserting themselves as an area of innovation, with means of intelligence and excellence in the scientific and industrial fields and great potential. In fact, they are the N°1 French region for investment in research and innovation.
This ranking is based on 162 “innovation indicators” which include the cost of property, the offer of public transport, cultural exchanges, and scientific research.
