Bordeaux Region development Agency - Aquitaine Tops List for Green Job Creation

Aquitaine Tops List for Green Job Creation

According to the magazine L’Observatoire des Investissements, its regional breakdown of green job creation in France shows the southwest regions well ahead. Aquitaine is virtually on top, with 1,089 green jobs created in 2009, much better than the Paris Basin (792) and the South of France and Provence (376).

In fact Aquitaine accounts for nearly 20% of all new green jobs in France.

Figuring highly among the companies who have created the most green jobs in renewable energy, waste recycling and bio-fields, are Smurfit Kappa, Fermentalg, Univercell, Exoes, Sunnco and Exosun.

Two other major relocation projects on the Bordeaux industrial green scene are First Solar, with solar panels, and EADS Astrium, with wind generator blades.
